My quiet husband

My husband is very quiet.
He's so quiet that my parents never notice him at family gatherings.
He's so quiet that our children ask "When's Dad coming home?" when he's already home.
I knew he was quiet when we were dating, but I didn't know it was this bad.
For instance, I always wondered why he never got a promotion.
I  was curious, but didn't want to stress him with questions.
Then I found out he was already a general manage!.
Why didn't he tell me?!
Then there was his friend and his wife.
The four of us met often and even went on family trips together.
I hadn't heard from them in a while so I called the wife.
"Long time no speak! How are you doing?"
"So-so, you know how it is..."
"We should all get together some time, like we used to."
"I guess you haven't heard."
"We got divorced."
Why didn't he tell me! I would have never called if I had known~
Also, he never mentioned his inheritance, so I thought there was none to expect.
But it turned out his parents owned a lot of real estate.
If he had told me, I would have been nicer to him!
I had said so many bad things about them.
Then on day, he came home and said he would be leaving for a business trip soon.
He said he would be there for a while and asked me to pack clothes for all seasons.
I said, "Who packs all that for a business trip? Just take some essentials."
So he took the bag I packed and left for his business trip to the U.S.
On my way out of the airport, I got a call from my husband.
"What's wrong? Did you get on the plane?"
"There's a slight delay. I just wanted to tell you that I left a letter for you on my desk."
Then he hung up.
I rushed home to read his letter.
It turned out it wasn't a business trip.
He was going to work in the U.S. for at least 3 years!
I read the letter and cried for a long time.
Do you know what it said?
It said, 'It wasn't an easy decision, but i'm going for our family and for my future.'
I couldn't stop crying as I thought of my hard-working husband.
Then, the last sentence caught my eye.
'I should have told you earlier, but I couldn't be bothered. That's why I'm leaving you this letter.'
Can you believe this guy?
If it wasn't for his inheritance, who knows what I would do!
I guess he really doesn't like to talk.
The first thing he said to me after arriving in the U.S. is "I need to focus, so just call me every other week."
Alright, whatever.
I can't believe I miss him.
