Simba: Hey Uncle Scar! Guess what!

스카 삼촌, 이거 아세요?
 Scar: I despise guessing games.

알간 뭘 알아  (추측하는 게임 난 경멸해)

▷ despise : 경멸하다

 Simba: I'm going to be king of Pride Rock.

나중에 제가 왕이 된대요

 Scar: Oh goody.

 Simba: My dad just showed me the whole kingdom; and I'm going  to rule it all. Heh heh.

아빠가 왕국 전체를 보여 줬어요 . 내가 다스릴 거래요

 Scar: Yes. Well...forgive me for not leaping for joy. Bad back, you know.

기뻐 날뛰지 못 해 미안하구나, 허리가 아파서 말이야 

▷ leap : 껑충 뛰다, 날뛰다, 뛰어오르다, 도약하다
- leap at a person :…에게 달려들다[뛰어오르다]

 Simba: Hey, Uncle Scar? When I'm king, what will that make you?

내가 왕이 되면 삼촌은 뭐가 되죠?
 Scar: A monkey's uncle.

원숭이 삼촌

▷ monkey's uncle. : 너무 놀았어, 거짓말 이겠지, (예상치 못한 일) 믿을 수 없다는 메시지를 가볍게 표현하는 말.

 Simba: Heh heh. You're so weird.

순 엉터리야 

 Scar: You have NO idea. ...So, your father showed you the whole kingdom, did he?

넌 모를 거다. 아빠가 왕국 전체를 보여줬다고? 

 Simba: Everything.

전부다요 

 Scar: He didn't show you what's beyond that rise at the northern border..?

설마 북쪽 경계선까지 보여주진 않았겠지? 

 Simba: Well, no... he said I can't go there.

네, 거긴 가면 안 된대요 

 Scar: And he's absolutely right. It's far too dangerous. Only the bravest lions go there.

당연하지. 거긴 용감한 사자 아니면 못 가는 곳이야 

 Simba: Well, I'm brave! What's out th--

나도 용감해요, 뭐가 있는데요? 

 Scar: No, I'm sorry, Simba, I just can't tell you. 

미안하다, 심바, 말할 수 없어 

Simba: Why not?

왜요?

 Scar: Simba, Simba, I'm only looking out for the well-being of my favorite nephew.
내 소중한 조카를 위하는 마음 때문이지

▷ well being :안녕, 복지
 Simba: Yeah, right, I'm your only nephew.

맞아요 하나밖에 없는 조카니까 

 Scar: All the more reason for me to be protective... An elephant graveyard is no place for a young prince... Oops!

그러니 더 보살펴야 하지 코끼리 무덤 같은 곳은 왕자님이 갈 곳이 못돼 

▷ graveyard : 무덤, 산소 

▷ graveyard shift : 야간/철야/새벽 근무

 Simba: An elephant what? Whoa.

코끼리 무덤? 

 Scar: Oh dear, I've said too much... Well, I suppose you'd have found sooner or later, you being SO clever and all...   Oh, just do me one favor-- promise me you'll never visit that dreadful place.

이런, 안 할 말을 했군... 하긴 넌 똑쪽하니 언젠가는 알아냈을 거야, 절대 그곳만은 가지 않겠다고 약속해 주렴 

 Simba: No problem.

그럴 게요 

 Scar: There's a good lad. You run along now and have fun. And remember.. it's our little secret.

착하기도 해라. 이제 그만 나가 놀아라, 지금 한 애긴 비밀이란 거 잊지 마라 

 

 

Simba: Hey, Nala.
 Nala: Hi, Simba.
 Simba: Come on. I just heard about this great place.

아주 굉장한 곳이 있어 

 Nala: Simba! I'm kind of in the middle of a bath.

심바, 난 지금 목욕 중이야 

▷ I'm in the middle of : 한창 ~ 하는 중이야 

 Sarabi: And it's time for yours.

너도 해야지 

 Simba: Mom! ...Mom. You're messing up my mane.

엄마... 내 갈기 다 엉켜요!

▷ mess up : (뒤죽박죽) 망치다. 

 Simba: Okay, okay, I'm clean. Can we go now?

이제 깨끗하니까 가봐도 돼요? 

 Nala: So where are we going? It better not be anyplace dumb.

어딜 가려고? 시시한 곳이면 안 갈 거야 

 Simba: No. It's really cool.

아냐, 굉장한 곳이야 

 Sarabi: So where is this "really cool" place?

그 굉장한 곳이 어디지? 

 Simba: Oh.  Uh... around the water hole.

물웅덩이 근처요 

 Nala: The water hole? What's so great about the water hole?

물웅덩이? 그게 뭐가 굉장해? 

 Simba: I'll SHOW you when we GET there.

가서 보여줄게 

 Nala: Oh.  Uh... Mom, can I go with Simba?

엄마, 심바랑 가도 돼요?

 Sarafina: Hmm... What do you think, Sarabi?

보내도 될까요, 사라비? 

 Sarabi: Well...
 Nala and Simba: Pleeeease?
 Sarabi: It's all right with me...

가도 괜찮겠지 

 Nala: All right!
 Simba: Yeah!
 Sarabi: ...As long as Zazu goes with you.

자주와 함께 가도록 해 

 Simba: No. Not Zazu.
